Port of Lorient — Fishing, Naval & Commercial
The Lorient port complex comprises three distinct areas: Port de Keroman, France's largest trawler fishing port and a major fish-processing hub; the commercial port (Port de Commerce), handling timber, bulk commodities, and heavy-lift cargo for offshore wind projects; and the naval base, one of the French Navy's principal Atlantic facilities. The diversity of vessel types — trawlers, bulk carriers, naval auxiliaries, offshore support vessels, and sailing yachts — makes Lorient a uniquely varied port for marine surveying work.
